In winds aloft observations using radio direction finding (RDF), the elevation angle below which errors in rawinsonde tracking caused by reflection and refraction are so great the resulting wind computations are unreliable. Limiting angles may apply to azimuth angle measurements if the azimuth angles are measured near structures such as towers or buildings.
