Google, purchased Sprinks. Sprinks advertisements, which were distributed over the About.com media network, were replaced by Google Adwords advertisements. Users who didn't have Google Adwords account, and wanted to have a site where Sprinks was showing before, had to open a Google Adwords account. Sprinks was owned by Primedia (About.com) and has agreements with companies such as Metacrawler.com, Mamma.com and more. It has content-targeted distribution, as well as the opportunity to purchase premier PPC listings.
